My Name is Linda and I own Norfolk Canine Massage. I live in Norfolk with my husband and our 2 lively Dalmatians, who came bounding into our lives 12 years ago.
My journey into canine massage began after Bowie, my male dalmatian, started to show signs of aggression. After seeing a veterinary behaviourist, I learnt that Bowie's behaviour was caused and exacerbated by physical pain, which was due to early onset arthritis and a cruciate ligament injury. I began to research holistic therapies to find an alternative way to manage Bowie's pain, without the need for further drugs and stressful experiences. That’s when I discovered Clinical Canine Massage.
I have trained for 2 years with the Canine Massage Therapy Centre completing 1200 hours of canine anatomy and physiology. I have worked with many different breeds and I am trained in the four disciplines of canine massage, encompassing over 50 techniques. Myofascial release, both the direct and indirect approach, remedial sports massage, deep tissue and Swedish massage, alongside the pioneering, clinically trialled Lenton Method®.
Evidence based research on the Lenton Method® is published in the Vet Record, a peer-reviewed medical journal in the field of veterinary medicine distributed to members of the British Veterinary Association as part of their membership.

Clinical Canine Massage is suitable for dogs of all ages and activity levels, whether they are a pet, show, performance, or a working dog. I take a personalised approach to your dog’s individual needs. My passion is providing pain free, bespoke treatment to ensure your beloved dog receives the right treatment plan, which can be achieved in just 1-3 sessions.
The first/initial consultation is 90 Minutes and will include an in-depth chat with you about your dog and their history.
I will also look at,
Once the initial consultation is complete, we can then begin a massage. During the session I will address any areas or issues, such as muscle strains, hypertonicity, trigger points and myofascial pain.
After the session I will explain what issues I have found, provide aftercare instructions and what you can do to help your dog after their massage. Rest assured, if you are worried your dog won't settle for treatment, I am trained to work across a wide range of environments, behaviours and circumstances.
To ensure you get the best results we recommend a further two sessions, normally around a week apart. This will consist of a 45-60 minute massage, On completion of all three sessions, I will write up a report and share with your vet, for your dog's records.
Maintenance sessions are typically carried out every 4 to 6 weeks. These sessions can be effective for providing chronic pain management for orthopaedic conditions such as arthritis and hip dysplasia. They are especially helpful for maintaining mobility for the older dog or if you have an active or sporting dog, these sessions can improve performance and flexibility.
Norfolk Canine Massage works in accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and Exemption Order 2015 and therefore I can only provide massage treatment with prior veterinary consent. Please download a copy of the vet consent form below. Once the form is completed and signed by your vet, you can either email it to me, or have it with you at the first session.
